On
December 21, 2006, the Pleasant View Volunteer Fire
Department was alerted by Robertson Co. Central Dispatch
of an injury accident on Tom Austin Highway near Pebble
Brooke.
Engines 401 and 402, Squad 431, and Support 435
responded.
Upon
arrival, it was discovered that the accident was just
across the Davidson Co. line, and the Metro-Nashville
Fire Department had been dispatched as well.
One
patient was entrapped in the vehicle. The damage
to the vehicle, coupled with it's elevated position,
against the tree, on the hillside created a challenging,
technical extrication.
The
PVVFD and NFD worked together to free the patient.
Patient care was handled by NFD and Robertson Co. EMS
personnel. Robertson Co. EMA, along with several
law enforcement agencies, also provided assistance.
Once
freed, the patient was transported by Vanderbilt Life
Flight to the trauma center.
