On
May 8th, 2007, Pleasant View fire units were dispatched
to "smoke coming from a structure" in their Coopertown
response district.
Smoke
from the fire, which was several miles away, was visible
upon leaving the station.
As
the first arriving unit, Engine 401 reported heavy fire
and smoke showing from a large single-story commercial
structure. Command was established, mutual aid was
immediately requested, and a 2-1/2" blitz line was
deployed.
Departments from Ashland City, Springfield, and White
House Community responded. Assistance was also
provided by Robertson Co. EMS and EMA, and Cheatham Co.
EMS and EMA.
The
building, which was a 60' x 300' mixed-use occupancy,
was a total loss. It was not equipped with a
sprinkler system.
Water
supply availability and access issues presented
challenges to the suppression effort.
