The Pleasant View Volunteer Fire Department’s explorer program is sanctioned under the Boy Scouts of America.  There are a total of six advisors that meet monthly to over see the program.  The ages range for the explorers are from 12-18 years old.

The explorers meet twice a month.  One meeting will be a training event where we will perform different firefighting activities, and the other will be an event where we will conduct fun activities in the community to build team work.

There are different modules that the explorers will have to complete to advance through the program.  Once the explorers have completed Level I, they will be allowed to attend different fire department activities, train with the current personnel, and respond to non-emergency events with the Duty Officer or Commanding Duty Officer.

The program is geared towards building team work, future fire service personnel, and community leaders.
