From The Chief... |
|
Note: Chief Ray served as our Fire Chief
for 13 years, and left the department in 2011 to
pursue his goals in the fire service elsewhere.
His vision and leadership helped guide this
department to make great strides in all aspects.
Despite the fact that he is no longer the chief,
and efforts to find his replacement are
underway, his message here is still relevant,
and serves well to represent our mission,
vision, and values. |

| Dear Citizens, |
| |
|
It is indeed an
honor to serve as the fire chief of the Pleasant
View Volunteer Fire Department. I have served
with this department since I was 12 years old,
and the tradition set forth by our founding
members is still an important part of our daily
operations. I encourage you to read about the
founding members within the "About
PVVFD" portion of this website. |

Today, we are
proud to serve you with 4 stations, and approximately 50 volunteers. Our
fire district comprises 200 square miles with a population of over
20,000. We utilize our motto of
Working,
Serving, Learning, Growing....TOGETHER
each and every day as we fulfill our mission and we believe that you
deserve a quality of care and service second to none. Because of that,
our personnel train hard and often. We are also known for our proactive
approach to fire prevention. We are proud that the Town of Pleasant
View and Cheatham County have adopted fire sprinkler ordinances that
ensure the growth that is coming to our area is protected. |

Fire sprinklers save
lives and money, pure and simple. We believe that
our future is brighter because of the proactive
decisions made by our local policy makers. We
encourage you to contact us if you would like a FREE
Home Safety check. We are proud to have visited with
many of the elderly within our communities,
installing 10-year lithium smoke detectors when
needed and discussing home safety tips. Please call
us if you would like us to visit your home and help
you ensure that it is fire safe. We want to partner
with you to help you protect what you value most.

I will close this "From
the Chief" letter by offering my sincere thanks to all
of those who make the choice to volunteer within our
department. We average over 1,500 calls a year which
means we respond to your needs an average of 4 times a
day. We are proud to be the ones who you call when you
need someone the most. If you are interested in
volunteering within our department, please contact us
regarding the various membership opportunities. We have
something for everyone, and we would love for you to
join our community minded team. |

With respect, |
