We also offer
severe weather education, birthday parties, community
block parties, station tours, fall prevention, fire
prevention for the elderly, and many more. All of these
include a fire prevention and safety message. Our goal
is to reach every child and elderly person in our
district and be available to any person, business, or
organization in our area to teach fire safety.
We are also
proud to be a part of the passing of the first all
inclusive fire sprinkler ordinance in the State of
Tennessee. The Town of Pleasant View was the first city
in the State to pass an ordinance that requires ALL new
construction to provide a fire sprinkler system. This
includes single family dwellings. This is in effort to
eliminate death caused by fire. This will help the
citizen and the firefighter as well. This will also
help the Pleasant View Fire Department help maintain its
volunteer force and keep taxes to a minimum. This
ordinance will also ensure the ISO rating will not
increase because of new growth. Now the Pleasant View
Fire Department is rated a 5-9 on the ISO scale. This
is the scale that the insurance companies use to
determine our rates on our homeowners insurance.
