Thursday (1st) @ PVVFD Training @ 1000hrs, Vent-Enter-Search/Window Initiated Searches- We will focus on all the equipment needed to perform a VES and how to deploy it together. Next, positioning the ladder at the optimal angle for rescue or rapid egress. We will discuss characteristics of buildings that will help with window selection, as well as venting and clearing those windows. A heavy emphasis on scanning with a TIC from the window prior to entry, entering the room, and mapping the room will be given. Lastly, a discussion on “Hook and Looks” as well as victim drags and carries will be reviewed.
